Generation Beta (often shortened to Gen Beta) is the proposed name for the demographic cohort succeeding Generation Alpha. Futurist and demographer Mark McCrindle (who also coined the name Generation Alpha) defines the cohort as those born from 2025 to 2039.
Generation Beta, named after the second letter of the Greek alphabet, follows Generation Alpha. According to McCrindle, its members are primarily the children of young Millennials and Generation Z.[1]
Speculations
At this point, the characteristics of Generation Beta remain uncertain. However, based on trends seen with Generation Z and Generation Alpha, it is possible that they will engage with content on social media.
Experts suggest that Generation Z parents may prefer to shield their children from constant internet exposure.[2] Generation Beta will grow up in an era characterized by rapid technological progress. Unlike their predecessors, they will not only adapt to technologies but will immerse themselves in them from the outset. Smart homes, AI-powered tools, and virtual reality may become integral aspects of their daily lives.[3]
