Kim Yong Bok (Korean김영복, born 27 July 1957)[1] is a North Korean colonel general in command of Korean People's Army Special Operations Forces, and a member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Career

Military career

In 2015, Kim Yong Bok was promoted to the Commander-in-Chief of the Special Operations Forces.[2]

Russian invasion of Ukraine

He is the top North Korean military official in Russia during the Russian invasion of Ukraine according to Ukrainian media.[3][4] In a report, he was supposedly injured in a missile strike behind the front lines.[5]

Political career

In 2016, Kim Yong Bok was elected to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.[2]
