Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Al Faihani
- ... that Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab's claimed photo circulated online is actually Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Al Faihani?
Faldi00 (talk) 19:35, 19 November 2024 (UTC).
- ALT1... that the photo circulated online claimed to be of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (d. 1792) is actually Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Al Faihani?
Same refs etc. Bit spicier. Johnbod (talk) 21:10, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
The article was nominated two days after creation. It is long enough and appears comprehensive. Google Translate allows for a basic inspection of the sources, and I see nothing of concern. ALT1 is superior indeed, both in sentence structure and hookiness. In fact, the original hook is hardly interesting, but the same fact is framed well in the alternative hook. --Surtsicna (talk) 11:17, 31 December 2024 (UTC)- @Faldi00 and Surtsicna:
are we sure mujaddid.net and fnoor.com are reliable sources? neither of them looks like it has professional editorial control/fact-checking... theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 18:20, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Faldi00 and Surtsicna:
It is difficult for me to tell with certainty because of the language/script barrier, but you might be right. Unfortunately these are the sources for the hook and for the identity of the man in the photograph. I did a reverse image search and could not find another source confirming that the man in the photograph is the subject of the article. Yusuf Asar Yathar, Faldi00, can we get a better source? --Surtsicna (talk) 10:50, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Faldi00: If the above hook is too problematic and untenable, can you propose alternative hooks/angles? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:48, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
- How about a new sentence structure: ALT2...: that a photo of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Al Faihani has been misidentified as being of a man who died before the invention of photography? DS (talk) 22:29, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
The nomination is now two months old and unfortunately it appears that issues remain unaddressed. Marking for closure. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:10, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
