The 2024–25 Illinois State Redbirds women's basketball team represented Illinois State University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Redbirds, who were led by eighth-year head coach Kristen Gillespie, played their home games at CEFCU Arena in Normal, Illinois as members of the Missouri Valley Conference.

Previous season

The Redbirds finished the 2023–24 season 21–11, 13–7 in MVC play, to finish in fifth place.[1] They defeated Evansville,[2] before falling to Northern Iowa in the quarterfinals of the MVC tournament.[3] They received an at-large bid to the WNIT,[4] where they would defeat Charleston in the second round,[5] before falling to Wisconsin in the Super 16.[6]

Preseason

On October 1, 2024, the MVC released their preseason coaches poll. Illinois State was picked to finish seventh in the MVC regular season.[7]
